Sara is a Nurse Practitioner- Paediatric Palliative Care at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN), South Australia. She has practiced in the field of Paediatric Palliative Care since its inception in Australia 19 years ago, and is the Chair of the Paediatric Palliative Care Australia and NZ peak body. She is a topic author and lecturer in postgraduate study at the Flinders University of South Australia and is a trained Clinical Supervisor.
Sara was authorized as a Nurse Practitioner in 2006.
She has co-authored development of Paediatric Palliative Care resources for families with publications such as The Family Companion, The First 48 Hours after the death of a child, and the Paediatric Palliative Care website. In recent years Sara has presented new work on the perspectives of caring with particular focus on developing resilience in clinicians working in emotionally challenging areas. Her latest areas of development have been Perinatal Palliative Care, establishment of Arts Therapy and End of Life Care policy, documentation and clinical tools.
Sara’s enthusiasm and passion for her field is inexhaustible, she is dedicated to ensuring that we serve the families in the best way to provide a Palliative Approach to care.
