Evan Everest is a senior consultant in Intensive Care at Flinders Medical Centre and Deputy State Controller of Health with the SA Health Department. The state controller’s role is to co-ordinate the health response to major incidents such as bushfires and he was heavily involved in the response to the H1N1 flu pandemic. He has been involved in disaster management and teaching for over 20 years. He contributed to the development of the Australian Disaster Medicine manual and the National Disaster Medicine course. He has run a number of disaster medicine courses in South Australia. His other interests including running a small beef breeding herd.
