Alex Poole is the Research Manager at Donate Life South Australia, is Project Manager of the LUCID study. Has been a Project Officer on the TARGET Nutrition study, and Research Manager at the Royal Adelaide Hospital ICU.
His qualifications include a Bachelor of Nursing Science with first class honours, graduate diploma of critical care, and graduate certificate of aero medical retrievals. Is a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide in the Discipline of Acute Care Medicine.
He has been working in clinical research since 2009 in both Intensive Care and Infectious Diseases, and has extensive experience in the management of clinical trials. Mr Poole has been invited to present at the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Coordinator Interest Group (IRCIG) workshops. Mr Poole is also an Affiliate Lecturer in the Discipline of Acute Care, School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Science at the University of Adelaide. Mr Poole is a member of several Management Committees for ANZICS-CTG endorsed clinical trials including REVISE and LUCID. His research interest includes nutrition delivery and blood glucose management in critically ill patients.
