Cascade Brewery Tour
Departs Hotel Grand Chancellor Campbell Street bus stop at 0930
The Cascade Brewery Company Pty Ltd is Australia’s oldest brewery. Nestled in the rolling hills of South Hobart, the historic buildings are set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Wellington and is of great interest to both beer lovers and history buffs alike. The tour includes a look inside the workings of the Brewery where some of the country’s finest beers are produced, as well as a walk through the famous Woodstock Gardens and a tour of the Cascade Museum. Tastings of the product is also included!
Transport will be provided for your return to Hotel Grand Chancellor at 12noon
Please note no open toe shoes or sandals are permitted in the brewery and as there is considerable climbing involved flat shoes must be worn. All participants must wear long trousers. The tour is not suitable for people who use a walking aid or young children who would have to be carried as strollers are not allowed.

Sweetest Tour in Hobart (Cadbury Cruise)
Departs from the Hotel Grand Chancellor Campbell Street bus stop at 0950.
A one hour cruise on the Derwent River taking in panoramic views of Hobart, Mt Wellington and Bellerive, before passing under the Tasman Bridge and up river past the Incat, builders of some the largest catamarans in the world. Arrive at Claremont – home of the Cadbury’s Chocolates and walk (slightly uphill, approximately 10 minutes) to the factory for your fascinating tour during which you will cover 1.5 klms. Learn the history of the factory, the chocolate making process and be prepared for the many samples you will be offered! At the completion of the tour there will be ample time to visit the factory shop to make your purchases.
A light is provided on the return cruise to Hobart.
Arrival at Brooke Street Pier is approximately 1415 and transport back to your hotel is at your expense.

Walking Tour of Historic Hobart
Departs from opposite the Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hunter Street at 1300
Join local identity Robert Vincent for an informative stroll around historic Sullivans Cove and the Salamanca precinct.
Marvel at the early architecture, discover the lively past of some of the historic waterfront buildings and the interesting characters of days gone by. A wonderful, leisurely tour which concludes with coffee at one of the Salamanca cafes approximately 1600.
After coffee take your time and explore the many shops along Salamanca. Transport back to your hotel is at your expense.
Please wear sensible walking shoes and bring a light waterproof jacket.

Huon Valley, Tahune Airwalk Full Day Tour

Travel from Hobart to the breathtakingly scenic Huon Valley arriving at the Tahune at 1100. The Air Walk varies between 25 and 45 metres in height and is covers a distance of one kilometre amongst the magnificent forest canopy affording views of both the Huon and Picton Rivers. A visit to the Visitor Interpretation Centre is a must and offers a great range of locally produced retail products – just the thing for a gift to take home. Join Robert and Louise Evans at their farm property for a home cooked country lunch featuring local salmon, beef and venison with freshly baked breads served in the gazebo overlooking their garden. The tour continues to the historic fishing village of Dover before returning to Hobart and the Hotel Grand Chancellor at approximately 1700.

Betsey Island Blast
Departs Waterman’s Dock, Castray Esplanade at 1030 (a 3-5 minute walk from Hotel Grand Chancellor)

Skim past the world class scenery of the Derwent River, north Bruny, Betsey Island in Storm Bay and the Iron Pot – the oldest lighthouse in Australia.
Tour returns to Waterman’s Dock approximately 1230.

Mount Wellington Bush Walk

Walk through an enchanted forest of magnificent tall eucalypts, ferns and unique
Gondwanan rainforest species and marvel at the tallest tree in the forest, the Octopus Tree. Pass over a footbridge that spans the headwaters of Hobart Rivulet and see wonderful Fern Trees and learn about the nature of these ancient plants. Track the eastern face of the Mountain for 1.5 klm to Sphinx Rock Lookout where, on a clear day you can see Maria Island on the East Coast. Before returning to Hobart you are driven to the summit of Mount Wellington (1270 metres) and take in the views of the Derwent, South Arm, Tasman Peninsula and the distant mountains of the SouthWest, Central Highlands and Ben Lomond.
Arrival back at the Hotel Grand Chancellor approximately 1700.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes, polar fleece or wool jumper, light weight waterproof jacket and bring hat, sunscreen and bottled water.

Mount Wellington Downhill Bike Ride
Departs from the Hotel Grand Chancellor Campbell Street bus stop at 0930
You will be transported the 22 kilometres from the city to the summit of Mount Wellington, rising 1270 metres above sea level. From the top you are able to see up the Derwent Valley, down to the Southern Ocean and across to the Tasman Peninsula. After a safety briefing and bike fitting you commence the thrilling downhill descent where the landscape changes from wild alpine terrain to forest and down into the foothills, through the outer suburbs of South Hobart and Battery Point. The ride ends at Salamanca Place at approximately 1300 so there is plenty of time to visit this famous market that operates until 1500.
Helmets, polar fleece jacket and gloves are provided.

Bruny Island Wilderness Coast Full Day Tour
The tour departs from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre on the corner of Davey and Elizabeth Streets, just a few minutes walk from the Hotel Grand Chancellor at 0800.
Untouched wilderness and ocean coast wildlife with spectacular massive stark cliffs shaped by the forces of nature. Embrace the power of the ocean at Bruny Island – Tasmanian wilderness at its best! Breathing Rock, an explosive blow-hole, sea eagle nests, stunning caves and rock formations and shearwater (mutton bird) rookeries. Friar Rocks is the home to over 1000 Australian Fur Seals. Look out for whales and dolphins that usually choose to accompany the tour. A fabulous lunch is included in the unique and informative day tour. The tour returns to Hobart approximately at 1800.
